C-section Recovery

You finally meet your baby and it is more than words could describe. He is perfect, but if you had a c-section, you might feel less than stellar yourself. Here are some simple exercises you can start in the hospital to speed your recovery.
1) Cough 5 times an hour (support your belly with a pillow)
2) Walk as soon as possible to prevent fluid accumulation and increase circulation
3) Try saying “HUT” fast and loudly to awaken your abdominal muscles (make your husband do this with you for a good laugh)
4) Belly Breathing – lie on your back and inhale to inflate the belly and then exhale as your draw your abdominal muscle in toward your spine

Take baby steps.  You will begin to feel more like yourself in a couple weeks.
